My 2 year old is potty training and I've always said I'll never be offered a book deal for my method of potty training. Basically, I start out each day with underwear on the child. When I get sick of stressing out over whether he will pee on the carpet, we switch to a Pull-up. The stress usually hits about noon, on a good day. To be honest, some days we just start with a Pull-up. Then when I think of it, I say, "Hey want to go pee-pee on the potty?" And all to often, it's usually after the fact. It's not the quickest method. So, if I were to write a book it might be titled, "How to Potty Train Your Child in 36 Weeks Flat" Anyone interested in a copy?
Now if nature garnished our home's floor, I swear my book title could easily be switched to "How to Potty Train Your Child in 36 Minutes". Frankly, my boy loves peeing in the great outdoors. His big brother taught him this *trick* and he thinks it's pretty cool. It's just what do the neighbors think, that worries me. My aunt found Jax like this last week.....

Awesome.. thats just how my Nate is.. (although he is potty trained now.) it took FOREVER.. what finally did the trick for me was Spiderman underpants.. and age really he was 3 by the time he would go regularly on the potty.. however.. the Underpants were a key factor. and a sidenote. My Nate too loves to Pee outside anywhere we go or even here at home He is forever going outside to pee off the porch... I do think its a boy thing.

BAHHHH ..Ok I admit I haven't even read through your whole post because..I have been there and done that :-) I remember one playgroup with like 20 kids he dropped his pants right in the middle of the little ballgame they were playing..well immediatly every boy on the field joined in and welllllll..it was something to see :-) Oh and he wasn't completely potty trained until we showed him he could pee on a tree..that sealed the deal:-)

That is the funniest thing I ever saw! I love it! Love the tan lines and the cute round bum!
Are you saying this is what I have to look forward to with my now one year old? I better stalk up on pull-ups and have my camera ready! :)

I love it! So funny and cute....untill I catch a pic on the blog of him squatting in the bushes. Peeing - cute. Pooping, well not so much.

Whatever works has always been my philosophy! I always resorted to bribery. Yes, I know all of the books say not to do it, but I'm convinced whoever wrote those books didn't actually raise children. For Alexi, we had two bags of treats and prizes, one for pee and one for poop. The poop prizes were a little more enticing, the pee ones were smaller like stickers, suckers etc. I guess Lex is motivated by prizes because it was the only thing that worked. Putting stickers on a chart and getting a prize at the end did not cut it for her at all. Sad!! Anyway...good luck with that. Look forward to seeing you in Oct.

That is just too funny. I give you credit. I'm an all or nothing person and right now it's nothing with Josie. One of these days it has to be an "all" and I'm hoping it's before Kindergarten starts in a few years!!!

Awesome!! I just love little Jax! It looks like he may get there sooner than you think though! Especially with Jalen's influence. Way to go Jax!!

I laughed out loud for a long time at this one! That is just way too funny. Max learned to pee outside too - he can get it a good 10 feet out with all the practice he's gotten. I know, I had to measure. It doesn't matter the weather either or if he is already inside. He will get up and instead of going into the bathroom, he will go out the back door and off the deck.

Remember when dad was finding dead spots in the grass in the back yard at the Stilegate house...we didn't have dogs!
